Daily Quranic Inspiration
Will the one who had memorised the Qur’an remember on the Day of Resurrection the verses he had forgotten?
“The Day when man shall remember what he strove for” means: on that day the son of Adam will remember all his deeds, both good and bad, as Allah, may He be glorified, says elsewhere (interpretation of the meaning): “And Hell will be brought near that Day. On that Day will man remember, but how will that remembrance (then) avail him?” [al-Fajr 89:23].”
Reward for memorizing Qur’aan
Al-Tirmidhi (2914) and Abu Dawood (1464) narrated from ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Amr that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “It will be said to the companion of the Qur’aan: Recite and rise in status, recite as you used to recite in the world, for your status will be at the last verse that you recite.”
The importance of reflection and taking stock of oneself
Reflecting upon signs in the universe and Islamic teachings mentioned in the texts is one of the great acts of worship enjoined and encouraged in the Qur’an.
Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Those who remember Allah (always, and in prayers) standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides, and think deeply about the creation of the heavens and the earth, (saying): Our Lord! You have not created (all) this without purpose, glory to You! (Exalted are You above all that they associate with You as partners). Give us salvation from the torment of the Fire”
Feel that Allah is addressing you with every verse of the Quran
Making yourself feel that Allah is addressing you in the Qur’an is attained by listening attentively to the Qur’an, reflecting properly upon it, and acting in accordance with it, as the Muslim believes that Allah is addressing His slaves in the Qur’an, issuing commands and prohibitions to them; sometimes He addresses a particular group in some contexts, and sometimes He addresses humanity as a whole.
Contemplation
“Verily in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the alteration of the night and day, there are indeed signs for men of understanding …”
Thankfulness or Gratitude in the Quran
Since faith consists of two halves, the first being thankfulness, and the other being patience, it is important for the person who admonishes their soul, wishes to safeguard it, and prefers its happiness, not to neglect these two great principles.
